Matthew James Reinhold Turk, passed away suddenly at his home in Boerne, Texas on Monday, January 18, 2010. Chris and Barbara Turk welcomed Matt into this world on September 6, 1979 in San Antonio, Texas where he lived until middle school, when the family moved to Boerne. Matthew graduated from Boerne High School in 1998. He pursued his passion for animals at Bell-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado. Graduating at the top of his class, he continued his education at Purdue University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Matt worked for Purdue University Animal Hospital in Oncology. After several years in the Midwest, Matt longed to be near family and friends and moved back to Boerne, Texas. Matt deeply loved his family. Matthew is survived by his parents Chris and Barbara Turk of Boerne, Texas, his grandmother Frances Turk, his sister Laura Middel (Cory), Uncles Tony Turk (Loula), Peyton Turk, and Kenton Brown (Tammy). He adored his niece Hannah and nephews James and Aaron. Matt had a special love and empathy for his grandparents Gladys and Herman Brown (deceased 1998) and Herbert (deceased January 2010) and Frances Turk. Matt was passionate about teaching veterinary medicine. Matt loved kayaking and was an avid mountain bike rider. He enjoyed riding with friends in the Hill Country. Those that know Matt, will always remember his wonderful sense of humor and friendliness.
