Matilda “Tillye” (Radeen) Itkin Levine, 94, of Farmington, formally of Middletown, passed away on Monday, August 31st at the Gables of Farmington. She was the daughter of the late Marcus and Esther (Sack)Radeen, and the widow of Jacob (Jack) Itkin and Harry Levine.
Tillye grew up in Hartford, and moved to Middletown when she married Jack. She and Jack managed Itkin’s Decorators together until Jack’s death August 31, 1963. She continued in the business, joined by her sons, until she retired when she was in her 80’s. The store is now in its 70th year of operation. In 1968 she married Harry who introduced her to his love of baseball. She quickly became an avid Red Sox fan.
