Maryrose (Lewis) Rees, 93, of Fortville, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013. She was born on March 6, 1920 in Clarksburg to the late Elmer and Jessie Lewis (Dorsey). She married the love of her life Lowell E. Rees on December 19, 1936 in Connersville. He preceded her in death in 1985. They moved to Fortville in 1937 where she remained until November of 2012.
She was a member of Fortville Christian Church for 75 years. Maryrose worked as a Policy Issue Manager at American United Life Insurance from 1957 until her retirement in 1983. She was a wonderful mother to and is survived by son Allen (Sandra) Rees of Fortville and daughter Margie (Bruce) Whitaker of McCordsville.
She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Mylinda (Pat) Adams, Jennifer (George) Zeller, Angela (Jack) Wade, Natalie (Ryan) Vespiras and Steve (Heather) Whitaker; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister Thelma Peterson of Greenfield; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Albert and Beth Rees of Fishers; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by brothers Bernard Lewis, Howard Lewis and Charles Lewis.
