MaryAnn Wilke, age 79, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.
MaryAnn was born on June 17, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids to Victor and Irene (Kobza) Young. She was united in marriage to LeLand “Sonny” Wilke on May 13, 1961 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. They were blessed with 38 years of marriage until his passing on February 29, 2000.
She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Kellner Senior Citizens. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting mittens, hats and slippers for her family, friends and area schools and churches. MaryAnn loved hosting family get-togethers at her beloved river home. She will always be remembered for overfeeding her guests. She loved to play cards, watch and feed the birds, go boating and camping up North, and completing puzzles.
MaryAnn is survived by her sons: Robert (LeAnne Warner) Wilke and Michael (Sharon) Wilke; sister Jane (Joe) Moon; sister-in-law Jean (Ron) Burhite; granddaughter Stephanie (Dalton) Beggs and great granddaughter Myla Beggs and she is further survived by nephew Josh Moon and several other nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents Vic and Irene Young, husband Leland, sisters-in-law Sharon and Judy; brother-in-law James.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the ICU staff and nurses at Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital for their excellent care of their mom.
