Mary Elizabeth (Witman) Kalinoski, 84, of Bloomfield, passed away on December 13, 2014, at her home. A resident of Newington for over 50 years, Mary was born in Springettsbury Township, York, PA, the daughter of Paul and Mary (Shaw) Witman. One of ten children, Mary grew up on a dairy farm in Wyndham Hills in York, and graduated from William Penn High School in 1948. She was married to Thomas P. Kalinoski from 1948 to 1969. After her children were grown, she worked as a bookkeeper for over 20 years, retiring from the firm of Case, Corrado and Yazmer in 1998. Mary was kindhearted and generous. She loved music and gardening and was an avid reader. She lived a simple, quiet life, centered in her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Newington. When her health declined, she moved to an apartment at Federation Homes, where she made many good friends. Mary was a gentle, loving mother devoted to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Douglas, David, Joan Ionno, and Judith Kiely; her grandchildren, Luke, Emma, Peter, Elena, and Mary (Spencer); her four siblings, Charlotte King, Treva Lehman, Charles Witman and his wife Constance, and step-brother Paul Smith, all of York, PA; her children’s step-sister Faith Powers; and many dear nieces and nephews and their families. She was pre-deceased by her granddaughter Renee, her youngest son Andrew, and her siblings Paul, Robert, Naomi Mummert, and Susan Julius.
