Mary Virginia Staggs,age 75 of Manassas, VA died on Friday, October 13, 2017 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond. Mary was born on September 15, 1942 to Robert Lee Varner, SR and Dorothy Woodhouse Varner. She was a member of the Manassas Baptist Church Choir and Manassas Chorale. Mrs. Staggs was a public elementary teacher for Prince William County for 34 years. She also was a volunteer at Prince William Hospital (Now Novant) in the pharmacy and was a volunteer at Deepwood Veterinary Clinic in Centreville, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude Wilkerson Staggs, JR. and is survived by her brother Robert L. Varner, JR and his wife Becky; a niece Amy Smith and husband Peter; a nephew Robert L. Varner, III and wife Elizabeth and their children Zachary and Adam Smith and Charlotte, Owen and Emily Varner.
