Mary Virginia “Moe” Monroe, age 77, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital Morgantown. She was born in Grafton, August 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Ray and Susan Sayres Monroe.
She is survived by a cousin, Rebecca Linn Woodruff, of FL, and several cousins, a very special friend Nancy Fowler, and many close friends.
She was member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Grafton and had served as organist for more than 20 years.
Mary Virginia was an accomplished musician and taught music at private schools in Cleveland, Ohio, and Virginia. She returned to Grafton and taught music at the Junior High School. She worked in the Taylor County Clerk’s Office for more than 20 years. She was a 50 year member of Naomi Chapter No. 12 Order of the Eastern Star and served as past matron. She enjoyed playing bridge with several different groups of ladies in Grafton.
