Mary Vinci

November 6, 1929 – April 4, 2016

Mary was born in Brooklyn New York, a fact of which she was very proud. In 1963 she moved to California with her Mother and her Aunt Josie’s family. For many years she worked as an accountant, ending her career at Robert Half Accountemps. After she retired, she moved to Ellensburg Washington and then to Clearfield Utah in 2014. She loved to travel and once took a road trip with her long-time friend Barb where they visited almost all 50 states. They also made many trips to Hawaii to visit Barb’s family.

Mary’s Mother, Anna, was born in Francofonte, Sicily and came to the States with her Mother at age 10. Mary was lucky enough to be raised in a multi-generational Italian household with her Mother, Grandmother, and Grandfather.

This gave her a strong appreciation for the customs and culture of Italy and while she never got to visit Sicily, she had a strong tie to the land of her ancestors.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Carmello and Conchetta Giammellaro, her mother Anna Vinci, her aunt Josephine and uncle Sam Turiano, her friend Barbara Kubo, and her cousins Etta Ferguson and Vincent Turiano. She is survived by her cousin Natalie Quinn and by second cousins Anthony Ferguson, Bruce Ferguson, Michelle Wood, Donna Turiano, Debbie Fisne, Theresa Turiano-Rambo, Dean Stone, Victoria Salg and numerous third cousins who all called her Aunt Mary.

Mary passed away on April 4th at the age of 86 from heart complications at her residence at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield Utah.
