Mary Virginia Polite, 91, of Albuquerque, formerly of Galesburg, died on Saturday, June 26, 2010, in New Mexico.
She was born on January 20, 1919, in Galesburg, the daughter of William and Louise Burns Worden. She married Douglas William Polite on June 9, 1938, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving Mary are five sons, Douglas Jr. (Rosalie) of Sherman, IL, Patrick (Rhonda) of Granger, IN, Michael (Danica) of Libertyville, IL, Philip (Sandy Huber) of Dorsey, IL, and Frank (Rhonda) of Dunlap, IL; two daughters, Mary (Rick) Cline of Orion, IL and Patrice (John) Smedinghoff of Albuquerque, NM. Also, surviving is a brother, Robert (Peggy) Worden of Arizona; sister-in-law, Lorraine Worden of Galesburg; thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by two brothers, Ed and Bill, and two sisters, Kate and Betty. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Foresters.
