Mary Tabitha (Weaver) Taylor, age 95, of Albemarle, N.C., died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at Spring Arbor of Albemarle in Albemarle, N.C. Taylor was employed by Stanly County School System. Following her college graduation from Teacher’s College in Asheville she moved to Oakboro to begin her thirty plus years of elementary teaching in the Stanly County School System. She taught school in Oakboro, Endy and New London. As a member at Central United Methodist Church she taught many years in the Children’s Sunday School department and was a member of the Mother Bivens Circle. She was a charter member of the North Carolina Retired School Personnel, Albemarle Women’s Club, and the Heritage Book Club. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Spring Arbor and Hospice of Stanly County for their care during her stay there and for their ministry in recent days. A very special thanks to her caregivers Debbie, Tracy, Lynda, Carol, Jill and Gennie who have meant so much in the past few weeks. . . She was the daughter of the late Kelsey Weaver and the late Margie (Fain) Weaver. She is survived by her One Daughter, Anne (Taylor) Ross and husband Dan of Clifton, Va. One Son, Tommy Taylor and wife Jan of Wadesboro, N.C. One Brother, Edgar “Sammy” Weaver of Murphy, N.C. Grandson Patrick Taylor and wife Sandy of Durham, NC Grandson Brad Taylor and wife Lisa of Wadesboro, NC Great Grandchildren Ava, Blake, Trent and Delaney Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas Glenn Taylor and two brothers, Robert and Fain Weaver.
