Mary Adeline “Ma” (Frankenhauser) Stockley, 91, of rural Serena, passed away March 29, 2015 at her home.
She was born on January 30, 1924 in East Chicago, Indiana to Raymond and Dora Belle (Grandgeorge) Frankenhauser. She married Herbert D. Stockley on June 29, 1946 at her parent’s home. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and her advanced degree work from Northern Illinois University. She was a physical education teacher for more than 32 years. She was a member of Harding United Methodist Church. Her hobbies and interests included painting, woodland knowledge, quilting, wood working, construction, violin music, embroidering and sewing.
She is survived by her four children, Tamara Eileen (Raymond Dale) Scott of Homewood, IL, Herbert Dean Stockley, Jr. of Bloomington, MN, Raymond Eugene Stockley of Cary, NC, Phyllis Jean (P.J.) Wolfe of Marseilles and Serena; three grandchildren, Kimberly Anne Scott, of Park Forest, IL, Christopher Dale (Sherri) Scott, of Homewood, and William (Haley)Wolfe, of Marseilles; great-grandchildren, Tiara Wright, Santana and Santiago McCoy; great-great grandchildren, Kianne and Kylee Smith, and her dog companion Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Frankenhauser. Mary will always be remembered for her generous spirit and her selfless giving.
