Mary was born in 1920 in Washington D.C. to Charles Rowland and Florence Stebbins. She met and married Harrison Combs in 1941 and accompanied him in their many moves throughout 39 years of active duty service. Mary was the “Captain’s wife”. She had many talents to include painting, sewing, and shopping at QVC! Once they retired, they followed their children, ending up in Albuquerque.
Mary had a long and productive life, was a strong positive example in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren. How lucky they are to have known their grandmother. She was a real fighter with a winning spirit! She was a beautiful woman both inside and out. Her love for family was greater than anything. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
