Mary E. (Crowe) Stanton, 89, of Peru, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015, at Liberty Village of Princeton. Mrs. Stanton was born on April 30, 1926, in Arlington, IL to Albert and Marcelia (Boyland) Crowe. She married Guy E. Stanton on February 16, 1946, in Arlington, IL. Mary worked at the Spring Valley Elementary Schools for 20 years and the Seatonville Greenhouse for 30 years. Mary was a member of St. Josephs Church in Peru, the altar and rosary society and the Peru VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by three daughters, Rosemary (Thomas) Breidenbaugh of Edinburg, IL, Barbara (Gordon) Hopper of Tiskilwa and Vicky (Ray) Blair of Spring Valley; 8 grandchildren, Larry Meyer, David Meyer, Amy Kline, Tammy Thompson, Guy Hopper, Rae Anne House, Nicholas Blair and Crystal Hutchinson; 21 great-grandchildren; and 5great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; her husband Guy on July 28, 1982; four brothers and three sisters. Pallbearers will be Larry Meyer, David Meyer, Nicholas Blair, Guy Hopper, Jerry Thompson and Jim Smith.
