Mary Sarchet, age 72, of Algona, Iowa died on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Mary Sarita Jergens, the daughter of George and Alice (Walsh) Jergens, was born on July 3, 1942 in Whittemore, Iowa. On March 6, 1959, Mary was united in marriage with Richard Sarchet in West Des Moines, Iowa. She had worked at Exceptional Opportunities in Burt as a part of the direct support staff. Mary enjoyed attending sporting events, watching the Cardinals and Cyclones, playing cards, BINGO, and going to the Casino. She loved her job at Exceptional Opportunities and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish Mary’s memory is her husband of 55 years, Richard; children, Lisa Sarchet of Johnston, Randy Sarchet and his wife Jodie of Valley Spring, SD and Sandy Wellman and her husband Gregg of Algona; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Pat Taylor of Des Moines and Joan Barie of Estherville. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 4 siblings, Jeb, Jim and Jerry Jergens and Nina Steinman.
