Mary Ruth Lugge, nee Wieman, 90, of O’Fallon, IL, born Friday, July 29, 1927 in Belleville, IL, passed away at Cedar Ridge Heath and Rehab Center, Lebanon IL on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Mary married her sweetheart, Leo F. Lugge, at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Belleville, IL on September 29, 1951.
Mary worked as a bookkeeper throughout her career at Northwestern Mutual, Scott Air Force Base, and Bel-O Cooling and Heating. Mary was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church. She was a past president of St. Clare School Mothers, Parrish Counsel at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, and The American Legion Post 137. She enjoyed music and played piano for the Kitchen Band.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leo Lugge; parents, George and Ruby Wieman, nee Pigg; brother, Raymond Wieman; and son, Richard Leo Lugge. Surviving are one son, Don (Karen Hooker) Lugge of O’Fallon, IL; two grandchildren, Chris (Savannah) Lugge of O’Fallon, IL, Nicole (Vince) Pratt of Troy, IL; three great-grandchildren, Donna Lugge, Landon Lugge, and Hunter Pratt.
