Mary R. Judkins was born in 1938 to the late Sylvester and Ruth Sellars in Sampson County. Her family later moved to Fayetteville where she attended school. In 1958 she married the late Wilbert Judkins. They joined Gardners AME Zion Church. She served as an usher and joined the choir. They later joined Moore’s Chapel Disciple Church where she worked as a missionary, Sunday school secretary and sung on the choir. She loved to serve the Lord.
She leaves to mourn two daughters, Linda Sellars of the home and Karen Jackson of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Sylvester Sellars of Virginia; one god brother, Garfield Brown of Elizabeth city; two sisters, Berlene Curry and Berthine Geddie of Fayetteville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
