Mary Rageina Bruington, 92, of rural Jacksonville died Monday, September 15, 2014 at Heritage Health in Jacksonville.
She was born February 14, 1922 in Hardinsburg, KY, the daughter of Snead and Lola Miller Robbins. She married Calvin B. Bruington on January 21, 1944 in Hardinsburg, KY and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2014.
She is survived by five children, Edwin Bruington (wife, Donna) of Jacksonville, Betty Montgomery (husband, Bill) of Decatur, Jerry Bruington (wife, Joyce) of Jacksonville, Ritcha Bruington of Jacksonville, and Lola Rush (husband, Jim) of Spring Branch, TX; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Bernard, Leonard, Anthony, and Vincent Robbins.
Mrs. Bruington was a devoted homemaker, an avid flower and vegetable gardener, and assisted her husband with the farming operation. A talented seamstress and quilter, she created many quilts for her family and friends over the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Following their move from Kentucky in 1953, Mary Rageina has thoroughly enjoyed the many friendships and activities shared in the Literberry community.
