It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Mary Patricia Silvas. Mary, known as “Pat” by her friends passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Vista Hospital in Perris, California.

Pat was born on August 15, 1936 in Granite City, Illinois to Peter and Catherine Galinski. Pat was a simple person, who lived a simple life. She worked as a payroll clerk for the Oxnard Harbor District, retiring after 30 of selfless dedication. Besides being a member of the Moose Lodge and participating in their activities, Pat enjoyed working on her crossword puzzles, loved to have dinner at Delgado’s, watching her game shows, and most importantly she kept in touch with her children and family on a daily basis. There was not a day that went by that Pat did not check in with her family.

Pat is survived by her children Ray Reeves (Carol) of Oxnard, Michael Reeves (Karen) of Phoenix, Ariz., Cheryl Silvas (Richard) of Oxnard. Sister Kathleen Swift of Granite City, Il., brothers, Peter Galinski of Edwardsville, Il. and John Galinski of Marysville, Il. She is also survived by Harold Silvas, and her grandchildren, Christina Reeves, Ramon Reeves (Jessica) Jeanette Reeves, Peter Reeves, Daniel Silvas (Desiree), Ricky Franco (Nicole), Vanessa Franco, Valerie Franco. Also missing Pat will be her great-grandchildren; Korine Diaz, Piet Diaz, Eric Diaz, Daniel Silvas Jr., Elsie Franco and Lea Franco.

A Gentle wind blew across the land, reaching out to take a hand.
For on the winds the angels came, calling out our mother’s name.
Left behind her mothers her children’s tears, loving memories of the years, of Joy and Love, a life well spent, and now to God our mother’s sent.
On angel’s wings, a heavenly flight, the journey home towards the light.
To those who weep, a body surrendered, but in God’s love, Pat’s life remembered.

We love you Mom.
