Mary O. Britt, 89, of 665 Center Street, passed peacefully Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at her home. During her illness Mary was surrounded and loved by her family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary’s husband, John F. Britt, died May 13, 1989.
Mary taught and supervised the State Beauty School for over 50 years. She enjoyed trips to the beach, spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Molli.
Born May 13, 1921 in Jewell, KS, she was the daughter of Ward C. and Hilda Haflett Matter.
Surviving are sons Douglas W. (Jan) in FL and John F. (Shirley) Jr. of South Williamsport; daughters, Connie S. Skiles and Bonnie R. (Jesse) Wertman both of Williamsport and Vicki L. Schley of South Williamsport; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by a brother, Paul Matter.
