Mary N. Stinson, 88, of 759 S. Academy St., Galesburg, passed away at 10 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg. Mary was born on January 18, 1920, in Galesburg the daughter of Oria Thomas and Kathryn Elizabeth Flynn Wiles.
She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1938. She married Guy A. Stinson on April 13, 1940.
He preceded her in death on August 4, 2000, after 60 years of marriage. Also preceding her death were her parents.
She is survived by her two sons, James (and Linda) and Phillip (and Judy) both of Galesburg; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and its Altar and Rosary Society and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary where she was an officer for over 40 years. She was Sacristy Chairman at St. Patrick’s for over 50 years.
