Mary (Slattery) Meyer, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, passed away peacefully with family surrounding her on October 20, 2018 in her home in Flagstaff AZ. She was born in Freeport, Illinois on June 29, 1923.  She graduated from Aquin High School. Ernest Meyer and Mary Slattery were married on October 1, 1949 in Freeport, Illinois where they lived, worked, and raised their family before retiring to Fountain Hills, Arizona.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Delia Slattery; her loving husband Ernest; and her five siblings: Thomas Slattery of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; James Slattery of Freeport, Illinois; Hugh Slattery of Carefree, Arizona; Margaret Slattery of Carefree, Arizona; and Bill Slattery of West Lafayette, Indiana.

Mary is survived by her four children: Therese Parrino; Margaret Medernach; Maureen Thiel and Ernest Meyer. She has eight grandchildren: Thomas Kubly; Audra Baker; Jennifer Kim; Julie Ross; and Zachary, Cory, Heath and Luke Meyer. She has ten great grandchildren: Tyler and Dylan Kim; Nachoma, Jonathan, Breanna, Jacob and Jase Kubly; Cailyn and Trevor Ross: and Indica Baker: and a great-great grandchild Ashton Taylor.

Mary was an active member of the Church of the Ascension, the Daughters of Isabella, St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Mission Rosary maker and an active member of the community. She loved to travel, shop, watch movies and photograph her family’s many memorable events. She also loved to play cards and go out to lunch with friends.
