Mary “Maura” Cryan Louis , 82, entered into the joy of eternal life on November 21, 2015. There to greet her were her parents Thomas Cryan and Bridget McHugh and her brothers Thomas and Charlie. She was the dear Aunt of Thomas A, Timothy (Michele), Terrence (Andri), Thomas J. (Debra), Charles and her beloved dog Bo.
Maura was a member of the Sisters of Charity for 20 years, taught elementary school at St. Lucy’s in New Jersey and worked as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, NJ.
She earned a master’s degree as a nurse practitioner from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI and married James B. Louis. Maura taught nursing at the University of Illinois, Chicago, worked at LaGrange Hospital and the Chicago VA.
She began painting as a hobby and continued into retirement in Arizona in 2002. She became active at St. Patrick Catholic Community singing in the choir and other ministries.
