. She did test negative! Mamie was born in Westonia, MS. She grew up in the Logtown-Pearlington area of South MS, that later became the southern buffer zone of the Nasa test facility. She never left MS except for a short tour with the Women’s Corps “WAC’S” near the end of WWII. She also worked as a welder in a plant for building some of the equipment for the military. After the war, she worked at the Box Factory located on Goodyear Boulevard in Picayune. By the time she married her husband in 1965, she had a career in banking with Bank of Picayune which later became Hancock Bank, from which she retired at the age of 62. During retirement she enjoyed traveling, camping, shopping, and spending time with her husband. They also enjoyed their retirement together with league organized bowling until his passing. She was heavily involved with the Seniors group at First Baptist Church of Picayune, MS until her health made it necessary for Assisted Care Living with Ms. Sheila W. Smith. She enjoyed her trips and outings with family but was glad for the care and assistance of a prior co-worker that she knew and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 40 wonderful years, Bobby Rayford “B.R.” “Bob” McRee; parents, John Louis Summers and Nellie Orr Summers; grandson, Roderick McRee; brothers, John Louis Summers, Jr. and Forrest “Buster” Summers; sister, Katheryn S. to cherish her memory are her children, Patricia M. (Jack) Long of TN, Laura M. Milligan of Denham Springs, LA, Tim (Carol) McRee, of Bay Springs, MS, Ross (Christine) McRee of Picayune, MS; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Russell “Sonny” (Mary Ann) Summers of Lumberton MS; sister, Viola Annette “Vinnette” S. (Dave) McClain of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
