She died at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Royal Oaks Health Care Center, Terre Haute.
She was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Lafayette, the daughter of George and Florence (Spencer) Brubaker.
She was married on March 7, 1958, in Logansport, to Jack Barnard, who preceded her in death on March 20, 1990.
Mary Lynn was the former Logansport clerk-treasurer from 1988 until 1995. She had been a legal secretary for 30 years for attorney George Brubaker.
A 1948 graduate of Logansport High School, Mary Lynn graduated from Butler University in 1952.
Among her past political activities, she was a Democratic precinct committeeman for several years; she was a member and secretary for the Monahan for Mayor Committee; a member of the Vernon for Mayor Committee; secretary of the Cass County Democrat Central Committee and a delegate to many state Democratic conventions.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 60 Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Jerri Barnard, Terre Haute; one granddaughter: Sara Elizabeth Barnard, Terre Haute; one sister-in-law, Kris Brubaker, Fort Wayne; two nieces, Tracy Matus, Crown Point, and Lori Thornton and her husband, David, Logansport; several great-nieces and a great-nephew.
Preceding in death was one brother, Jack Brubaker
