Mary Louise Hemmerly, 95, of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Penn State Health, Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was the wife of the late William C. Hemmerly, M.D. She managed her husband’s medical office on Easton Avenue for 38 years. In addition she was an excellent rug hooker and seamstress.
Born in Philadelphia to Nellie and Edward Zorn, Mary Lou graduated from West Philadelphia High School and attended Temple University. She was an active member of Fritz Memorial United Methodist Church, Bethlehem. Among her volunteer efforts were Meals on Wheels and the Bethany Meal Center.
Survivors: She will be remembered by her daughters, Nancy Hemmerly of Mechanicsburg, Ellen Hemmerly and her husband David Turban of Baltimore, MD; sons, William Hemmerly and his wife Sue of Sparks, MD, Brian Hemmerly and his wife Susanne of Springfield, VA; grandchildren, Ben, Ellen, Susan, Mara, Grant, Danielle, Jacob, Maxwell, Lydia and Will; 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings Edward, John and Frank Zorn and grandson Kyle Turban.
