Mary Louise Koch, 78, of Ottawa, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the Ottawa Pavilion.

Mrs. Koch was born on March 25, 1932, in Seneca to John and Loretta (Schomas) Einhaus. She married William Grobe in 1950, later married Dr. E. R. Maierhofer, who preceded her in death. She then married Ralph Koch. Mrs. Koch was employed by Community Hospital of Ottawa for 15 years, retiring in 1983. She loved people and always welcomed them with a smile and open arms waiting for a heartfelt hug. She was happiest when she was needed. She was a maker of many things, quilts, blankets, totes, cookies, cake…too many to list, but all were made with a great amount of care and love. Treasure them. She was always ready to talk or listen about anything. She was a very good friend and a very good woman. Her fun loving smile and wit will be greatly missed but her spirit will be felt forever.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; five children, Michael (Kelly) Grobe, Richard Grobe, Eugene (Holly) Grobe, Jeffery (Julie) Grobe, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Carretto; ten grandchildren, Chad, Kyle, Kristin, Emily, Kayla, Patrick, Jacob, and Jordan Grobe, and Zach and Katie Carretto; three great-grandchildren, Lyla Grobe, Payton Carretto, and Karsyn Moore; two brothers, Jerry and Joseph Einhaus; and two sisters, Dorothy and Susan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, John, Thomas, David, and James, one sister, Margaret, and one grandson, Cliff Grobe. Memorials may be directed to the Ottawa Pavilion
