Mrs. Johnson peacefully passed away at a local hospital.

Viewing is Wednesday, November 6th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the mortuary.

God blessed the parents, Justice Hunter and Mary Louise Parsons, with a beautiful healthy child, Mary Louise Johnson, on March 27, 1926, in Glenwood, Arkansas.

She was the second child to this family. Mary relocated to the city of San Diego in 1944. Mary was a very special unique child in every way with a determination to do her best in everything she set her heart to do. She was a great student receiving her education in public education completing it with honors.

Mary married James E. Johnson and from this union two sons were born, Jerrell Allen Johnson, who preceded her in death, and Wyatt Louis Johnson. Her children were her pride and joy. She dedicated her life selflessly to provide a home full of unconditional love and support to ensure their success in life. Her fondest accomplishment was rearing her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. She used the bible as a teaching tool in raising her two sons in the Lord.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age.

While caring for her family, she never lost sight of her goal of establishing dependable and dedicated work ethics which she achieved through many years of sacrifice and determination.

Mary was employed first as a domestic worker and later as a dietician at Sharp-Rady’s Children’s Hospital for many years before retiring. She was a strong willed lady who never wanted to be idle or seen wasting time. She worked at Goodwill Industries during her senior years until her health prevented this activity.

Mary touched the lives of many with her wise counsel and humorous wit. Her love for people made her a confidant and peace maker among family and friends. She had a heart of compassion and leaned heavy on her faith in God. She never complained as her strong faith made her certain that God would see her through the trials she faced and through any situation. She had many challenges in her life but she held fast to her Lord even when it seemed the walls of Jericho were falling about her she held fast to her Lord.

She labored long in his vineyard. She prayed and she worked for the Lord until he called her to her rest. No more sorrow. No more weeping and wailing. No more feeling like a motherless child. No more pain. No more crying. No more having to deal with this world of hurt and sadness. She is now peacefully resting until Jesus raises her up when He comes. Her beautiful smile and personality truly lit the room. She will be dearly missed.
