Mary Lou Null, age 93, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Trinity Oaks, Salisbury, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Null.

She is survived by her sister Carolyn Klingensmith of Ligonier, PA; three sons, Christopher (Lisa) Null of Benton, AR; Richard (Lori) Null of Palmdale, CA and John (Ann) Null of Manassas VA; nine grandchildren: Cody, Weslie, Michael, Joshua, Jeremy, Sondra, Juliana, Moriah and Rachel and six great grandchildren: Jack, Bo, Burke, Olivia, Julian and Josephine.

Mary Louise Klingensmith was born October 19th, 1927 in Uniontown, PA. Mary Lou attended Carnegie Mellon College in Pittsburgh, PA and studied art. She married Richard Moore Null in 1950. They raised 3 sons and moved to various places due to Richard’s work – Lower Burrell and Gibsonia in Pennsylvania; Albemarle, North Carolina, and Benton, Arkansas. They then moved back to Albemarle, North Carolina where they later retired. After Richard (Dick) died, she moved to Trinity Oaks in Salisbury, NC.

Mary Lou was a devoted, loving mother, wife and homemaker. Mary Lou loved gardening and was part of The Garden Club for many years. She appreciated the arts and she would enjoy interior decorating for herself, her church and friends. She was famous for her cookies, chocolate cake and homemade bread which was enjoyed by many in the community. While living in Albemarle she attended Central United Methodist Church where she was a part of the Women’s Auxiliary and “Chicks with Sticks”. She was an amazing knitter and made many sweaters, baby blankets, prayer shawls and helmet liners.
