Mary Lou Fisher, 58, went home to be with her Lord Savior, Jesus Christ, at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Indianapolis, the daughter of the late Lee and Nancy (Nutter) Scully.

A 1972 graduate of Marion High School, she married Michael Fisher on August 11, 1972, in Marion. Mary Lou was employed with World Gospel Mission for 17 years as an executive secretary and more recently with VIA Credit Union, Gas City Branch, as a receptionist until her onset of ALS, in 2011. Her joy was in singing, sewing, living for Christ, any activity with her grandchildren, teaching in children’s ministries, as well as serving through the church as Chairman of the Ministry Oversight Committee, and church secretary. She had an outgoing personality and was a natural encourager. She was loved by all and had an infectious laugh. She spent her life serving others and was very family-oriented. She was a member of the Upland Friends Church.
