Mary Lou Collins, age 82, of Newburg, formerly of Grafton, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at United Hospital Center. She was born July 4, 1929, in Gilmer County, WV, a daughter of the late Grover and Macil (Paugh) Barnhart. Her husband, Farrell W. Collins, preceded her in death June 8, 1989.
Mary Lou was a mother and a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed gospel music, country music, and dancing. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are: three sons, David Collins, of Salem, WV, Donnie Collins and wife Robin, of Bridgeport, and Larry Collins and wife Janet, of Grafton; three daughters, Sue Sapp, of Newburg, Sonya Shingleton and husband Jacko, of Grafton, and Tammy Jones and husband John, of Clarksburg; 20 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Lucille Barnhart and Mary Barnhart, both of Clarksburg, and Shirley Barnhart, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: one son, Roger Collins, one daughter, Brenda Williams; one sister Linda Nestor, three brothers, Orville Barnhart, Ronald Barnhart, and Junior Barnhart; one sister in infancy, and one brother in infancy.
