Mary Lou Allen Harper,79, of Prattsville, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. She was born April 26, 1936 in Prattsville, the daughter of the late John and Carrie Abana Hope Allen.
Mary graduated from Prattsville High School in 1954. She worked for 28 years in the medical records field at the Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital, when she retired in 1998. She was very instrumental in the lives of her children, being a volunteer at the Prattsville School and also PTO President for many years among many other activities. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and gardening.
She taught Sunday School at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member. She was saved and baptized when she was a young child. She loved Jesus with her whole being and because of this she loved everyone, telling all that she ever met about Him. She was a loving sister, wife, mother and “Nana” to everyone she knew.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, George W. “Bill” Allen, John R. “Dick” Allen and Frank Allen.
Survivors: husband and best friend of 57 years, Norman Brinkley “Richard” Harper of Prattsville; daughters, Georgia Ann and husband Eddie Hicks of Prattsville, Leslie Carol and husband Perry Nichols of Prattsville, Terilynne and husband Kevin Shackelford of Malvern; Sandra Hope Harper of Malvern, Cherye Kay Forbush of Prattsville; sister-in-law, Robin Allen of Prattsville; grandchildren, Kristy (Kyle) Hull, Kelly (Drew) Kidder, Kerry (Jeff) Young, Tyler Hicks, Ethan (Kayti) Nichols, Allen (Shauna) Harper, Dalton Kennerly, Carson Kennerly, Seth Ashcraft, Carsten Adams, Emily (Andrew) Valadez and Anderson Schmidt; 9 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.
