Mary “Leona” Burroughs, 87, of Indianapolis died on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 in Greenwood. She was born July 12, 1928 to Milton and Della (Gindstaff) Rexroat in Edinburgh, IN.
She was a clerk for the Tucker Pharmacy worked a the Cookie Lady in the City Market in Indianapolis for some 28 years.
She is survived by her three children, Sherryl L. (Jim) Duell of Indianapolis, Lonnie Burroughs of Edinburgh and Kendra(Jimmy) Curry of New Whiteland; one brother, Franz (Joyce) Rexroat of Indianapolis, four sisters, Maxine Hart of Oregon, Grethel Johnson of Indianapolis, Judy (John) Welch and Deena (Larry) Patterson both of Florida; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Burroughs.
