Mary Lena Eposito, 86, widow of Sante J. Esposito, Sr. of Plainville, passed away at her home on Saturday June 12, 2010.
Mary was born on March 23, 1924, in Mello, Italy, a daughter of the late Peter and Theresa (Gianoni) Gianoni.
Mrs. Esposito retired from the Plainville Public School system in 1997 as the cafeteria supervisor of Linden Street School. She was a member of AARP and the Plainville Senior Citizens and a former member of the Our Lady of Mercy Ladies Guild. Mary lived in Plainville for 56 years and was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She had 6 Great Grandchildren and those who knew her were sure to share in her joy as she shared their pictures with them. She was blessed and treasured by her grandchildren who affectionately called her Grammy.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Sante and Nancy Esposito Jr. of Great Falls, VA; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Lewis of Bristol;
her grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Homedy, Michael and Sarah Esposito, Erin Esposito, Bryan Esposito, Derek Mello, Brian and Jennifer Mello and Justin and Jennifer Esposito; her step-grandchildren, Jonathan and Suzanne Lewis, Jason and Michelle Lewis and Jennica Lewis; her great-grandchildren, Noah, Madden, Gabriel, Alexandra, Anna and Peyton; her step great-grandchildren, Ashton, Avery, Ansleigh, Emma and Evelyn; her sister-in-law Geraldine Gianoni and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Joanne Esposito and her two brothers, Archie and Julio Gianoni.
Mom, Grammy, “Nona” – Great Grammy you will forever be in our hearts, your memories will be treasured but we are at peace that you are with your loving husband.
