Mary Lee Hartman (Miller), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, age 87, of Owosso and more recently St. Johns, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 16, 2017 in her home of her family surrounded by loved ones singing Amazing Lee was born to Gotleib and Elsie (Moomey) Miller on April 26, 1929 in Dorr, Michigan. A deep faith in God and life on the busy family farm were the foundation of her upbringing. She received her high school diploma from Bible Holiness Seminary in Owosso in 1947, and married her high school sweetheart Loren on September 11, 1948 in the living room of the beautiful Miller family farm house. The happy couple and their 4 children enjoyed Little Traverse Lake vacations, school and community activities and their Owosso Wesleyan church family. Mary Lee was an accomplished pianist, accompanying church worship. She also enjoyed playing the accordion and writing poetry, and was always ready for a rousing game of Bingo. She was a dedicated homemaker; family and friends around the dinner table enjoyed her fabulous cooking. Mary Lee was an encourager; her Sunday afternoons were spent writing notes of encouragement, filled with scripture verses and prayer. God’s Word was life to Mary Lee, her Bible was well-read and always open on her lap. Mary Lee’s legacy is a steadfast love for her husband and family, and a deep faith in God that remained strong and grew ever deeper through the mountains and valleys of life. Mary Lee is survived by her dear/only son Daniel (Cindy), adoring daughters Diane (Robert) Schwanbeck, Debra (James) Davis, & Lisa (David) Miller. She is the proud grandma of 14 grandchildren: Ben (Karla) & Chris (Kate) Hartman, Daniel (Erica), Phillip (Martha), & Anna Schwanbeck, Aaron, Ivan (Jenny), Andrew (Elizabeth), Austin, & Elizabeth Davis, Emily (Lane) Bargeron, Kristen (Jason) Salsbury, Sarah & Lauren Banas, darling great-granddaughters Bailey, Aubrey, Heidi, Anna, Alice, Jenna, Nyra, Luci and great-grandsons Gus, Isaac, Noah & Owen. Mary Lee was predeceased by her husband Loren, her parents, sisters and brothers.
