Mary Lee Armentrout, 97, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022. She was born in Dayton, Virginia, on July 8, 1925 to the late Jacob and Florrie Bodkins.
Mary Lee lived a full life. She worked in a pant factory before she married Ernest Armentrout. They raised 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. Mary Lee was a proud homemaker, wonderful mother, and wife. They moved to Lakeland to retire, and Mary Lee started playing golf. She was a natural at the game. Her handicap was 13, and she had 11 hole in ones. Mary Lee played until she was 88 years old. When she wasn’t playing golf, she would play cards, and other sports and games with her friends at the club house.
