Pillmore, Mary L., 80, of Scottsdale, Az, passed away February 12, 2009. Mary was born January 3, 1929 in Tannersville, NY. She spent her early life in the Catskills and the area surrounding Albany, NY. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1949 and met her future husband, George shortly thereafter while working at St. Clair’s Hospital in Schenectady, NY. They were married on May 13, 1951. Mary put her nursing career on hold to devote her full attention to raising a loving family. After living in the Northeast and the Upper Midwest, the family settled in the Phoenix area in 1960, where she continued to live until her passing. In addition to being a mother, she continued her nursing career as both a school nurse and an industrial nurse from the late 1960s into the late 1980s. Mary loved her family and enjoyed all family activities. Most of all, she is remembered as a selfless individual who always put her family and friends before her own needs. She is survived by her husband, George; her sons, Chris of Fort Worth, TX and Eric of Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Kerry Fiske, of Phoenix; sisters, Betty Lindstrom and Joan Redmond; grandchildren, Brian, Justin, Mari and Nathan Pillmore, Sarah Prescod, Heather and Chelsea Fiske; and a host of other family and friends.
