Mary L. Scheuermann, 83, of Three Oaks, Michigan died Monday evening, October 1, 2007 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman, Michigan. Mary was born June 13, 1924 in Loogootee, Indiana to Ottis and Pauline (Nixon) Black. After graduating from high school in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she worked for General Electric Company. On June 29, 1947 she married Alvin L. Scheuermann in Fort Wayne.
He preceded her in death on September 23, 1973. Mary worked at the Featherbone Factory in Three Oaks, and later retired from Independent Steel in New Buffalo after many years of service. She loved spending time with her many nieces and nephews and buying gifts for them. Mary was a faithful member of the Three Oaks Free Methodist Church, using her talents and volunteering her time around the church. Her ability to create crafts was helpful during her many years teaching Sunday School, and the church building and grounds were kept beautiful, in part, by her constant stewardship.
Survivors include her sisters, Evelyn (Rae) Howe of Perry, Michigan and Geraldine (John) Chandler of Valparaiso, Indiana; brothers, Dale (Sharon) Black of New Port Richey, Florida; Norman (Maris) Black of Fort Wayne; and David Black of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Vida (Harold) Nash of Three Oaks; brothers-in-law, Charles (Mary) Scheuermann, Three Oaks and Edward (Vivian) Scheuermann of Valparaiso.
