Mary Downey, (maiden – Mary Kathryn Calhoun) formerly Mary Bailey Mary departed this life October 22, 2014 in Canon City, Colorado at the age of 71. She was born April 5, 1943 to Thomas F. and Ella Jean Calhoun in Kansas City, Missouri, and was one of eleven children. Mary graduated from Canon City High School in 1961. Mary was a former Royal Gorge Rodeo Queen, an avid Bronco and Rockies fan, but most of all enjoyed watching her grandchildren play their sports. She loved the mountains and in the last year of her life, she lived with her sister in Wetmore, where she lived as a young girl and had many fond memories. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Deloris Calhoun and Louise Conway; and brother, Paul Calhoun. She is survived by her sons, Brad (Antionette) Bailey of Denver, Colorado and Jeff (Cindy) Bailey of Colorado City, Colorado. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Brandon Bailey of Spokane, Washington, Brianna Bailey of Denver, Colorado, Keelan Bailey of Colorado City, Colorado, and Kevin Bailey of Colorado City, Colorado; along with brothers, Don Calhoun of Eckert, Colorado, Ben Calhoun of Zulch, Texas, Tom Calhoun of Dallas, Texas, Nolan Calhoun of Canon City, Colorado; and Stephen Calhoun of Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by sisters, Peggy MacPherson of Katy, Texas and Lynnette Sawyer of Wetmore, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
