Mrs. Mary Josephine (Jodie) Prina passed away peacefully Monday June 6, 2016 in Paxton, Illinois. She was born September 3, 1924 in Galesburg to Frank H. Allison and Anna L. Owens. She was one of nine brothers and sisters. She married John Prina, also of Galesburg, on July 16, 1945. John and Jodie had seven children: Pat (Becky) Prina of Paxton, Illinois; Mike (Joan) Prina of Washington, Illinois; Dan (Debbie) Prina of Galesburg, Illinois; Ann (Greg) Atwater of Galesburg, Illinois; Jodie (Helen) Prina of Paw Paw, Michigan; Joe Prina of Los Angeles, California and Jim Prina of Zephyrhills, Florida.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Brian (Krista) Prina, Kevin Prina, Carrie (Nandor) Toth, Doug (Allison) Atwater, Mark Prina, Jerry (Bethany) Prina, Jessica (Tim) Bruemmer and John Prina as well as fourteen great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John and all eight of her siblings (Sam, Bill, Charlotte, Catherine, Frank, Danny, Betty and Virgil). Mom was member of Corpus Christi Church and active in Altar and Rosary Society, St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a Eucharistic Minister for the Church. Mom’s passion was her children, devoted to helping them make their way through life. With a gentle nudge or a resounding push, she would lead you to the right track. Besides making a loving home, mom worked at Maytag for 20 years, retiring in 1989.

Anyone that knew mom knew her two specialties, vegetable soup and fudge. Mom loved to dance at the old roof top at the Weinberg Arcade and she loved anything yellow.
