Mary Jo (Fahey) Richter, age 84 of Salem, WV passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Serenity Hope Assisting Living Facility in Good Hope. She was born September 11, 1933 in Lewis County, WV; the daughter of the late Frank Fahey and Kathleen (Pope) Fahey.
Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Richter of Salem, WV; two sons, Jim Richter & his wife, Toni of Bridgeport, WV and Rob Richter & his wife, Brenda of Salem, WV; five grandchildren, Brandon, Nick and Justin Richter, Maria Osbourne & her husband, Mitch and Nicole Moravy & her husband, Craig; five great grandchildren, Avery, Addison & Alexa Osbourne, Nicholas & Mason Moravy; a sister, Mary Jo Hickman & her husband, Tom of Salem, WV; three brothers, Gene Fahey, Paul Fahey & his wife, Betty and Bill Fahey & his wife, Vicki, all of Salem, WV; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by a grandson, Declan Richter; a sister, Helen Minnich; two sisters-in-law, Iris Fahey and Joy Lee Fahey.
Mary Jo was a homemaker and was well-known for speaking her mind. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salem, WV.
