Mary Jo Picco, 77, of Oglesby passed away at  10:00 PM Saturday March 19 in IVCH Emergency Room in Peru.

Mary Jo was born September 8, 1938 in Ottawa, IL to John and Josephine (Corrigan) Corrigan. She was owner and operator of MJ Sidetrack’s Tavern in Peru from 1980-2002. She worked the admission gate at LaSalle Speedway and also currently worked at SSE in Peru. Mary Jo volunteered for many local charities including the Project Santa charity for many years.

Mary Jo was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother, and she was an avid card player.

Mary Jo is survived by two daughters Debbie (Mike) Wallace of Oglesby and Lisa Picco of Cedar Point; son  David (Nancy) Picco of Roswell, New Mexico; seven grandchildren Christopher (Wendy) Wallace, Danielle (Brad) Grasser, Michael (Megan Hemmer) Wallace, Andrew (Alaina) Wallace, Anthony (Baille Billhymer) Wallace, Amanda Roberson and Rachel Wall; and 11 great grandchildren; sister Rose (John) Lipinski of Spring Valley and brother Don (Paulette)Corrigan of Bartlett, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Picco III, grandson Mark Roberson Jr. and three brothers Richard, Robert and Vincent Corrigan.
