Mary Jane Stahr, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014 at Blough Nursing Home, Bethlehem. She was the wife Robert J. Stahr. They celebrated 57 years of marriage in September of 2013. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Martha C. (Wagner) Walker. Mary Jane was a 1952 graduate of Liberty High School. She was the former head of the Earned Income Tax Department for the City of Bethlehem for over 20 years until retiring, and previously worked for the former Brown Borhek. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, where she served on the Women’s Groups and assisted her husband with the newsletter. Mary Jane was Past President of the American Business Women of Lehigh Valley and a member of Auxiliary of Muhlenberg H.C. and served on the Summer Festival Board. Survivors: with her husband, Robert are a brother, Charles W. Walker and his wife, Judi of Moore Twp.; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Garland in 2008.
