Mary Jane Meadows Bennett, 82, of 1095 Mountain Hill Road, Ringgold, VA died in Danville Regional Medical Center Sunday, May 9, 2010. Born October 2, 1927 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Sam C. Meadows and the late Annie Shelton Meadows. She was a member of Glenwood Memorial Baptist Church and also taught Sunday school at Glen Hill Baptist Church for a number of years. She was formerly employed with Belk Leggett Co. She is survived by her husband, Lewis DeWitt Bennett whom she was married to for 60 years. In addition to her husband of the residence, Mrs. Bennett is survived by a daughter, Lisa Eanes and husband, Micah of Ringgold; a twin sister, Ida M. MGuire of Danville and her sister, Louise Reynolds of Dry Fork; two granddaughters, Nicole Eanes and Cameron Eanes and a step-grandson, Micah Eanes, Jr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was predeceased by her sisters, Jeanne E. Seidnitzer, Corrine M. Pryor, Annie Booth, Ruby Collins, Eleanor Cochran and Leila M. Pierce and a brother, Logan Meadows.
