Hickey, Mary Grace (nee Kennedy) was 76 when she passed away Thursday January 30, 2014. Born in Rockaway Beach, New York, Mary Grace lived in Oradell before settling in Bergenfield since 1960. She was an alumnus of Stella Maris High School, Rockaway Park and loved to play the trumpet in the St. Patty’s Day Parade with the Rockaway American Irish Band. Additionally Mary Grace was a member of the 2672 Msgr Burke Rockaway Columbiettes. For many years Mary Grace worked on defense projects for Western Electric in New York City, after leaving to raise her daughters, she returned to work for AT&T as a sales representative. Loved by many in her community, Mary Grace was a parishioner of the Church of the Ascension, New Milford where she served as a Parish Trustee, President of the Rosary Altar Society, and coordinator of the CYO Sports Programs for over 20 years. Born August 15, 1937 in Rockaway Beach, New York to the late William and Grace Kennedy. Mary Grace was the beloved wife of 53 years to Gerald A. Hickey, loving mother of daughter Maura Kelly and husband Gary Kelly and daughter Meegan Grace Levine and Alec Levine. Grandmother to Timothy K. O’Connor, Ryan Kelly, Grace Kelly, Jackson Levine, and David Levine She is the cherished sister of Margaret (Peggy) Funesti, and leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews.
