Mary Frances Calhoon of Mansfield, formerly of Ashland, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2010. She was 89 years old. Born in Fairfield Co., Ohio, June 23, 1921, she was the only child born to John and Myrtle (Love) Smith. She graduated from Ashland High School and played viola in the high school orchestra. Also Mrs. Calhoon was a graduate of Mansfield General School of Nursing and served as a registered nurse and life-long member of Park Street Brethren Church in Ashland.
Mary Frances married her beloved husband, Herschel Dale Calhoon July 12, 1947, who survives. Also surviving are their children: Craig (Marion Sheridan) Calhoon of Olympia, Washington, Sarah (Fred) Reuer of Springfield, OH., Roger (Carol) Calhoon of Redmond, Washington, and James (Kimberly) Calhoon of Ashland, OH. She was preceded in death by her son, Ray Calhoon and a granddaughter. She is survived also by her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
