She was born March 7, 1920, in Wabash, to the union of Ogden and Juanita Weaver.  Mary was an only child and attended Wabash High School.

She moved to Logansport, married J.C.

In 1956, Mary married Jewel C. Moore.  Jewel’s daughter, Mary Sue Humphries, became a loving member of the family.  Mary and Jewel remained happily married until he departed this life in 1976.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age, she loved the Lord, and was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Zion Tabernacle.  Mary was a Virtuous Woman (Proverbs 31).  Those who knew her affectionately called her “Mother Mary” or “The Mayor”.  She leaves an enriched legacy of giving.  Her motto was “living is giving”.  Mary took what little she had and blessed many.  She also had a comical sense of humor and kept everyone laughing with her quick wit.  Family was her greatest joy in life and she instilled values that will be carried forward by them.

Mary is survived by her children, Melba Smith, Marion; Betty (Rev. Mark) Smith, Canton, Ohio; Wanda (Lester) Gooding, West Haven, Conn.

Matthew 25:23:  His Lord said unto him,  Well done,  good and faithful servant, thou hast been faithful over many things; I will make thee ruler over many: enter thou into the joy of the Lord.
