Mary Francis Smith, 70, of Galesburg, died at 9:02 a.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Richard Owens Hospice House, Peoria.
Mary was born on April 10, 1945 in Noble, KY, the daughter of Oat and Minnie Lou Wireman Johnson.
Mary is survived by two sons, Bobby Wire of Peoria and Monte Wire of Highlands Ranch, CO; one daughter, Theresa Wire of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Jamie Wire of Abingdon; two great grandchildren, Ruby and Owen Sayers; and several brothers and sisters.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Mary worked at Maytag for over 30 years, retiring in 2002. She was an active volunteer for the Guardian Angels Humane Society. She also enjoyed gardening in her yard, sewing and quilting.
