Mary Evelyn (Babbitt) Barlage

     During World War II she worked in Indianapolis for an arms manufacturer.  She worked for many years in the Ball Brothers marketing office.  She was a talented ceramist and proudly belonged to the American Business Women’s Association.  She married Willard “Bill” Barlage, August 15, 1963. Together they operated the Pixie Diner on South Madison Street until they retired.

     They traveled extensively throughout the country enjoying life.  They shared life with their Yorkshire terriers both at home and on the road.  She loved her husband, family, friends and of course her dogs.

     She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Willard “Bill” Barlage; her daughter, Saunnie Michael; her grandson, Philip Michael; three step-children, James Barlage, (wife, Virginia), Helen Nelson, (husband, Evan), and Frances Measells, (husband, Kelly); their children and grandchildren and many nieces and nephews including her nephew, Steven Babbitt, who was particularly considerate and helpful throughout this time.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Joe Conway; her sister, Jean Golding; and her brothers, Ray, John and Robert Babbitt.
