DURHAM- Mrs. Mary Gooch Ellis, 85, of Durham died on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Hock Family Pavilion-Hospice. Mrs. Ellis was a native and lifelong resident of Durham and was the daughter of the late James and Sudie Gooch. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel “Wink” Ellis. She is survived by her loving son, James W. Ellis (Tamra) of Durham; two sisters, Betty Baker (Harrell) of Burlington; Willie Mae Gammon of Reidsville; granddaughter, Courtney Beck (Jeff), great-granddaughter, Camdyn Beck all of Ocean Isle Beach.
