Mary Ellen Glaze, age 75, passed away on Wednesday December 6, 2017 at Spotsylvania Medical Center in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Mary Ellen aka “GrandMary” was born on October 8, 1942 in Washington D.C. to the late George O’Connor and Anne Marie (McBrearty) O’Connor. She graduated high school from Notre Dame Academy in Washington D.C. and nursing school from St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. She worked as a nurse at National Institute of Health in Bethesda and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring Maryland in the recovery rooms. In 1981 she began working at Commonwealth Hospital on the Orthopedic unit.
